We must spread awareness and take action by learning to identify signs and indicators of human trafficking victims. Review some indicators in this week’s article.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, or NamUs, is a national information resource center for missing, unidentified and unclaimed person cases across the United States. Using this tool, we were able to identify nearly 250 missing Indigenous people. Review the map to see data on those individuals unaccounted for.
*Note* that NamUs is a database that relies on law enforcement and the general public to input information. Due to underreporting, the number of missing Indigenous men and women is likely much higher than you’ll see here.
